This study, carried out by GSMA Mobile for Development Utilities and Etisalat, explores the opportunity for mobile network operators to partner with service providers in the deployment of Pay-as-you-go (PAYG) solar solutions, to improve energy access in Nigeria. The findings show that, while the market for off-grid solar solutions is nascent in Nigeria, a few actors are moving the market forward by exploring the potential for mobile technology to support the deployment of PAYG solar solutions at scale.
